NORMAN PFEIFFER, FAIA

Nationally known over the course of his 43 year career for some of the country's most memorable public and cultural spaces, Norman Pfeiffer has a diverse portfolio of contemporary new construction as well as historic renovations and additions. His inclusive approach grounds each design solution in an understanding of site opportunities, community objectives, architectural influences and functional parameters and has resulted in both iconic and contextual resolutions. His buildings have been amply recognized by the profession with numerous planning, design and restoration awards for their contribution to architecture, urbanism and the communities they serve. Current and recent projects include the Debartolo Center for the Performing Arts at Notre Dame, Westmont College, Academic Center, Chapel and Residence Hall, Palm Desert Performing Arts Center, Colburn School of Performing Arts Expansion in downtown Los Angeles, and UCLA Northwest Housing. Norman founded Pfeiffer Partners in 2004, after 37 years as founding partner of Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer Associates (HHPA). He is an Architecture graduate of the University of Washington, where he has served on the Architectural Commission since 1989, and has a Masters in Architecture from Columbia University.
